Position Title: Early Childhood Educator (ECE II)

Background:

The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre Inc., is seeking an individual for the position of Early Childhood Educator II on a temporary basis. All applicants must have certification as an ECE II from the Daycare Office. Our Centre is a licensed facility with 20 daycare spaces for infants and toddlers, aged 3 months to 2 years old. ECE II staff provide a holistic program that cares for and nurtures our children’s spirits, intellect and social and physical well-being.

Qualifications:

• Must have Early Childhood Educator II certification.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.
• Ability to plan and implement daily activities for children 1 to 2 years of age.
• Strong communication skills for use with staff and parents.
• Strong infant guiding skills.
• Ability to maintain the health and safety of the children and environment.
• Must be willing to work as a team member.
• Ability to follow the philosophy of the Child Development Centre program.
• Ability to work under stressful situations.
• Must provide a current (within the last three months) Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector search, Child Abuse Registry Check and be subject to a Prior Contact Check.
