Position Title: Community Helper Asihcikan
Classification: Full-Time
Location: Adelaide temporarily/moving to Notre Dame Community Care Site
Salary: Subject to Qualifications
Background:
As a member of the Asihcikan Community Helper Program, the Community Helper will be responsible to provide services to children, youth and families residing primarily in the neighborhood catchment area, in partnership with residents and other community-based agencies. Must have working knowledge and ability to input data daily and willing to work evenings and Saturdays.
Qualifications:
- Initiate, develop and implement programs and services to address specific needs of the neighborhood.
- Experience working with community structures and community development processes.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Indigenous and Non-Indigenous organizations.
- Strong written/keyboarding skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word & Excel.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must be willing to be a team player.
- Ability to work with a high level of independence.
- Respectful to engage people and build helping relationships.
- Strong motivational and leadership skills.
- Valid Manitoba driver’s license and access to a vehicle would be an asset.
- Must provide current (within the last three months) Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector search, Child Abuse Registry check and be subject to a Prior Contact Check.
