Position Title: Community Helper For Every Family Initiative (FEFI)

Classification: Full-Time (Mon – Fri / 2pm-8pm) (Sat 8:30am-4:30pm) *Sunday & 1 Weekday off

Location: Larsen Community Care Site

Salary: Subject to Qualifications

Background:

The FEFI Community Helper will be responsible for providing services to children, youth, and families residing primarily in the neighborhood catchment area in partnership with residents and other community-based agencies. Must have working knowledge and ability to input data daily and be willing to work evenings and Saturdays.

Qualifications:

  • Initiate, develop, and implement programs and services to address the neighborhood’s needs.
  • Experience working with community structures and community development processes.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Indigenous and Non-Indigenous organizations.
  • Strong written/keyboarding skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word & Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be willing to be a team player.
  • Ability to work with a high level of independence.
  • Respectful to engaging people and building helping relationships.
  • Strong motivational and leadership skills.
  • Valid Manitoba Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle would be an asset.
  • Must provide current (within last three months) Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Query, Child Abuse Registry Check and be subject to a Prior Contact Check.
