Residents of Yellow Shawl: Innovative Youth Housing Program will be youth and young adults, between the ages of 16 – 21, who are generally qualified to receive EIA. The Program will be able to accommodate both male and female Aboriginal youth, who are enrolled in high school and transitioning to post-secondary education and or employment.

The first 6-residents will be identified by the Pathways staff and observed, prior to acceptance, as being able to benefit from an alternative housing program and to succeed in a structured-independent living arrangement. Youth who face difficult circumstances and who are at risk for dropping out of school but are not yet demonstrating a high risk lifestyle would benefit from early intervention and placement in this program.
